Verbz is looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team in Lisbon. You’ll be joining a small, passionate team of engineers, designers and product leaders working to transform how we all work while mobile.

We’re looking for a passionate, user experienced obsessed designer, who wants to make an impact with their work. Someone who is interested in taking part in all stages of the product development cycle, from beginning to end and all the iterations that come along the way.

In this role you will:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product teams, and other stakeholders to craft world-class experiences and improve product metrics
  • Carry out both qualitative and quantitative user research to gather insights to help drive the product forward
  • Help create thoughtful designs and solutions with a clear understanding on technical limitations.
  • Help maintain and grow a design system for mobile and web
  • Help build and define the design team process as the team grows
  • Participate in design discussions and sprints

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least a Bachelor's degree in user experience, design or related field
  • Has 3 or more years of industry experience in web or mobile application user interface design
  • Is comfortable working on cross-functional teams and has a metric-driven mindset
  • Has an understanding of both mobile and web platform-specific design patterns so that solutions are tailored to those platforms
  • Has experience working with design systems
  • Has a mastery of the tools from pen & paper to Sketch / Figma / or Adobe XD (We’re using Figma)
  • Is comfortable with animation / prototyping tools such as Framer / After Effects / Principle / or Protopie ( We’re using Protopie)
  • Bonus points if you understand effective UX writing
  • Double Bonus points if you have designed voice assistant or voice-first interfaces

Within 1 month you’ll:

  • Contribute to the next iteration of the app on various platforms
  • Contribute to the growth and maintenance of the design library
  • Create artifacts to gather user feedback and insights

Within 3 months you’ll:

  • You’ll have been with us as we launched our open beta
  • Be working on designing features and functions as the product grows
  • Be doing user interviews with our beta users and synthesize learnings back to the product team
  • Be involved with the product roadmap and feature planning

Within 6 months you’ll:

  • Own a feature as the design subject matter expert
  • Help define our design culture, process, and team hiring as the team grows
